Zooming in on Fashion Week: Pero by Aneeth Arora

Embroidered boots, school-girl socks, bow ties and magician hats on girls with cherry-clown noses. Yes, once again, we’re smitten with the unexpected show of Pero by Aneeth Arora (Winner of the Vogue Fashion Fund last year) at Wills India Fashion Week A/W’13.
Effortless fashion and comfortable clothing go hand in hand with the designer. Red and white striped ramp, models walking in cherry noses, balloon juggling bottles, on foot tapping music was an unusual sight that brought a certain amount of drama to the ramp; the spirit of the circus without it literally becoming a circus.
Checked shirts, palazzo pants, overpowering hats, ikat jackets, cashmere knitted sweaters and khadi shirts, all spelling androgyny in abundance. With the extravagance of rich Indian textiles such as pashminas, Ikats, and tie and dyes, the collection displayed a well-executed kaleidoscopic pattern play. Bringing out the color pallete of grays, hues of turquoise, browns, blacks, maroons and deep purple, the collection brought exuberance of gaiety.
