Man of the moment Rahul Mishra hit his stride with a truly glocal design sensibility at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week AW’14. The glimpse of ‘The Lotus Effect’ by the winner of the international Woolmark Prize swept us into a candlelit affair of “pure merino wool hand embroidery with an incredibly soft tactile feel” and the “tie & dye on ultra-light merino wool jersey with one size fit to all”. These risqué innovations certainly had us pledge allegiance to Mishra as done by Elle UK, Vogue Paris, The New York Times and many more.
According to LORD BUDDHA, the eight petal while lotus is found at the heart of the Garbhadhatu Mandala (womb) of the world. Inspired by this belief, this collection is an outcome of engineered progressive graphics emerging out of Eight Petal Lotus. The new weaving methodology has not only brought a new direction in interpreting the possibilities of Merino wool by making it trans-seasonal, but also creates participation from huge sector of Handicrafts and Handlooms in rural India.
With divine inspiration, Mishra found courage to create strong, memorable looks with a permanent texture of Bandhini on merino wool. These techniques, developed as a result of scientific innovations, added super-sized potency with a side of silhouette drama.
Go ahead now, feast your eyes on this mathematical artistry as carved by Rahul Mishra on effortlessly chic zippered peplums, cocktail dresses and more.
