My second look in association with Sue Mue was all about marrying the classic with the contemporary. I picked out a beautiful turquoise saree from their exclusive selection of Benarasi weaves and decided to put my own (peplum-infused) spin to it. Instead of going for a traditional blouse, I paired the saree with a pale pink, hand-embroidered silk peplum top from Sue Mue itself and decided to cinch it at the waist. After all, there’s no outfit that a right belt can’t improve upon! Agree?
So I had this crazy idea of shooting this look in their workshop instead of one of those usual picturesque locations. The contrast of having a raw industrial background against a very refined look featuring this stunning turquoise Benarasi saree just happened to really appeal to my visual senses and I couldn’t have achieved these beautiful outcomes without photographer extraordinnaire Tarun Chawla‘s magical lens! Thank you Tarun and of course team Sue Mue for being so cooperative and open to the idea.
