“That’s the thing about fashion. When you feel like yourself and the style is very you, it energizes you.” – Leandra Medine
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I can relate to and resonate with this quote by one of my favorite international fashion icons as I write this post. Some collaborations fuel you like no other, making you want to put your heart and soul in it. This was definitely one of those, primarily because I had one of India’s most luxurious shopping destinations as my playground. Not to forget, the freedom to don looks as per my style with the latest and greatest pieces from some of the biggest, most desirable designers from around the globe. Stuff like this truly energizes my soul, electrifies my imagination and fires my enthusiasm like never before.
Presenting Part Deux of my collaboration with fellow blogger Hanadi, featuring Spring/Summer’17 looks from DLF Emporio, as promised in the previous post about the same. The best part about DLF Emporio’s luxury offerings is that they’re a good mix of Indian and international labels all under one roof. So for our second bunch of SS’17 high-octane looks, we decided to portray that by combining one of our common favorite Indian designer with a bunch of international high-end brands.
We had both been wanting to slip into Pratap’s luxe, tailored creations ever since we saw them on the runway at the previous Amazon Fashion Week. While I settled on a luminescent woven gold shirt dress tucked inside a grey wool skirt, Hanadi decided to go with their signature black oversized jacket keeping up with the 80’s trend, paired with blue high-waist jeans from Versace’s SS’17 collection. Deconstructed shirting and bare shoulders continue to reign supreme as two of Spring 2017’s biggest trends so I thought why not play with those for my look and style my shirt in a way that revealed my left shoulder. I normally am pretty confident about my looks, but when an absolute stranger stopped me in the middle of my shoot to compliment my outfit and to ask me where it was from, I was absolutely overjoyed! Being a style influencer, nothing makes you happier than someone liking your look enough to try it on themselves.
Undulating waves were Fendi‘s key motif for Resort 2017, as showcased to striking effect on these block-heeled mules I chose to pair with my outfit. They’re crafted from gleaming gold leather and soft black suede, and have a collapsible heel panel that can be worn up or folded beneath the foot – an essential new-season detail. Since we had a bit of a metallic theme going on, Hanadi settled on a pair of silver Louboutin pumps.
Roberto Cavalli seemed to be our go-to place for accessories yet again. As for bags, we both chose Versace. The black calf leather bag from the Palazzo Empire Line with central Medusa head in gold seemed to go perfectly with my ensemble. Hanadi picked the blue, red and black calf leather Palazzo Empire colour block shoulder bag with a detachable shoulder strap.
This gold-tone metal and Swarovski crystal serpent belt from Roberto Cavalli has my heart. Best part? You can also wear it as a neckpiece!
Ending this post with a huge thank you to Hanadi for being my support system, styling buddy and the chirpiest partner in crime all throughout this collab!
