Anamika Khanna | India Couture Week’16

“In its journey, Anamika Khanna‘s Couture 2016 collection experiences moments when time stands still. In a world where romance is fast disappearing, there is an attempt to feel emotion. There is a constant effort to bring youthfulness into the aesthetic. There is a versatility in its etherealness, yet there is strength, the one that women have today. The collection attempts a timelessness and moves towards classics.”

A simple marriage between what ‘was’ and what ‘is’, is portrayed through contemporized traditional silhouettes like the sharara, the saree, the odhna, structured coats and full skirts, adorned with 3D petals, zardozi, threadwork, kalamkari and dori work. The color palette ranges from ivories and pastels to bold reds, mustards and blacks.
