Flared/wide-legged pants of all possible varieties, quite honestly, form the backbone of my wardrobe. We all develop are own set of style staples as we grow up – from crisp white shirts to the perfect pair of skinny jeans to tailored, well fitted blazers. And while each one of those items adds ample value to my closet, they don’t exactly top my list of must-haves. Maybe that has got something to do with the fact that basics don’t excite me. Or let’s just say I define my basics differently, at least as of now. And that is what leads me to invest in versatile voluminous palazzo pants (mostly because of the ease of what works with them), well-constructed peplum tops (primarily due to the lack of thought needed while putting one on), chunky block heels (high five comfort lovers) and lately, chokers (trend-slave that I am), all in the name of wardrobe staples.
I dressed up my black satin palazzos recently with a snorkel blue top from Threesome, featuring an asymmetrical peplum and laser-cut faux leather detailing, cherry red block-heeled peep-toes and a lace choker from Aashima Behl. Finished off my minimal luxe look with sleek hair and deep red lips.
